Rudelle Ivey Morris

Mrs. Rudelle Ivey Morris, age 93, of 681 Browns Creek Rd., Union, widow of James M. Morris, passed away, Monday, February 13, 2023 at Peachtree Center in Gaffney.

​Mrs. Morris was born February 12, 1930 in Union, a daughter of the late Ben Clifford Ivey, Sr. and Anna Harris Ivey.  She was a graduate of Kelly Pinckney High School and retired from Milliken & Co.—Monarch Plant.  Mrs. Morris was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World.

​Surviving are a daughter, Connie M. Barfield of Union; two sisters, Barbara Summer of Greenville and Goldie Jordan of Florida; three grandchildren, April Hall and husband Bobby, Chad Barfield, and Holli Barfield; four great-grandchildren, Justin Hall, Jayda Barfield, Luke Robbins, and Conner Barfield; and one great-great-grandson, Asher Barfield.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Dianne M. Whisnant; a great-granddaughter, Maycee Barfield; two sisters, Anna Lou Tipton and Etrulia Moore; and six brothers, Arthur Ivey, Willindsey Ivey, Leroy Ivey, Quinton "Jack" Ivey, Ned Ivey, and Ben C. Ivey, Jr.

​The family would like to say a special Thank You to all of her caregivers and Peachtree Nursing Center for their care and compassion shown to her and her family during her time of illness.

​Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Andrew Austin and Rev. Scott Cobb.  Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

​Active pallbearers will be Tim Hollingsworth, Wayne Vinson, Glenn Ivey, Ben Ivey, Petey Ivey, and Bird Ivey.

​Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM from prior to the services at the church.
