Mrs. Ruth Anne Anthony, widow of Ernest A. Anthony, of Buffalo, SC, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024 at Union Post Acute.
Mrs. Anthony was born in Union, SC, February 28, 1932, a daughter of the late Willie B. and Etta Harmon Wingo. She was a graduate of Union High School and enjoyed attending all the class reunions until last year. Mrs. Anthony was retired from the US Post Office as a rural carrier. She was an active member of Buffalo Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Anthony was a former Sunday School teacher, Bible School Director, choir member and WMU leader.
Mrs. Anthony was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her sons, Mike (Dale) Anthony, Tommy (Donna) Anthony, and Wayne (Susan) Anthony, and daughter Karen (Karmen) Kingsmore. Surviving grandchildren are Stephanie (Andy) Nelson, Kacie (Stephen) Taylor, Trey (Lauren) Anthony, Ty (Amanda) Anthony, Brett (Ashley) Anthony, Mitch (Jacqueline) Anthony, Aaron (Carrie) Anthony, Will (Hannah) Anthony and Andrew (Katie) Kingsmore. Mrs. Anthony's surviving great grandchildren are Cameron (Leilani) Nelson, Caden (Julia) Nelson; Austin, Ava, Luke, Dalton, Colton, Maddox, Bo, Mary Margaret, Banks, Simmons, Caroline and Palmer Anthony; Hunter and Kadence Taylor; Kollins, Koleman and Kolbie Ruth Kingsmore. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Jeanelle Wingo and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Anthony was predeceased by brothers, Bill and JC Wingo and sister-in-law, Marianne Wingo.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 15, 2024 Buffalo Baptist Church, 1424 Main St., Buffalo, SC, conducted by Rev. Doug Estes. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are, Mrs. Ruth Lancaster, Suzette Simmons, Linda and Bruce Betenbaugh, Stanley and Brenda Wells, Donna Lugo, Sue Jackson, Nancy Culbertson, James and Jay Coffer, Barbara Gregory, Rubin and Lisa Morris, Dr. Bill James, and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to her caregivers while she was at home: Donna Lugo, Sue Jackson, and Nancy Culbertson. Also to the Union Post Acute staff for her care during her stay there.
