Ruth Lamb Gregory

Mrs. Ruth Lamb Gregory, age 96, formerly of Arthur Blvd., Union, widow of Sidney Harmon "Sid" Gregory, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. Gregory was born in Union, May 17, 1920, a daughter of the late Joseph Layton Lamb and Mary Ellen Lee Lamb. She was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from John Graham Stores, Graham Cash. Mrs. Gregory was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Sidney Harold "Hal" Gregory and wife Priscilla of Fort Lawn; one brother, Ralph Lamb of Charleston and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lamb was predeceased by four sisters, Willie Mae Lancaster, Carrie Lee Lancaster, Kathleen Pruitt and Hazel Bennett; and two brothers, Layton Wilson Lamb and J. Harold Lamb. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. David Bauknight. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Bogan, Kenneth Lancaster, Melvin Timmons, Bennett Johnson, Bill Smoaks and Greg Mayer. Visitation will be held Sunday prior to the services from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 201 S. Church St., Union, SC 29379.
