Ruth Ann Howard Hughes

January 25, 2018 Mrs. Ruth Ann Howard Hughes, age 88 of 125 South St., Buffalo, widow of Kenneth Sherwood Hughes, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Hughes was born in Cambridge, MD on July 10, 1929 a daughter of the late Phillip Colescott Howard and Ola Mae Shenton Dukes. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge, MD for over 50 years. Surviving are a daughter, Rhoda Ellen Borga and husband Francis of Cambridge, MD; one sister, Gertrude Vansickle of California; grandchildren, Kenneth Neil Fleming of Simpsonville, Timothy Allen Fleming and wife Jessica Whitman of Simpsonville, Kayla LeeAnn Nichols of Buffalo, Shelly Hughes-Jones and husband Gordy, Kenneth Scott Hughes, Jr., Christopher Borga and wife Roberta, and Brittany Stephens; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins. She was predeceased by one grandson, Dale Wheatley; two granddaughters, Krista Fleming and Dana Fleming; a step-son, Kenneth Scott Hughes, Sr; a daughter-in-law, Janice E. Hughes; three brothers and five sisters. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Mrs. Kari McAdow.
