Ruth Franklin Moss Fowler

April 9, 2017 Mrs. Ruth Franklin Moss Fowler, age 93, of 308 Alman St., Apt. 30 widower of both Edward Lewis Moss and Thomas G. Fowler passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Fowler was born in Woodruff, SC November 13, 1923 a daughter of the late Lidith "Lotie" Franklin Carpenter. She was a member of Hammett Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Fowler was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are one brother, Henry Raymond Carpenter of Spain and a number of nieces and nephews; she was predeceased by two half-brothers, George Russell Carpenter and Lewis Manuel Carpenter. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel conducted by the Rev. Buddy Hogan and Rev. David Sellars. Burial will follow at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ray Carpenter, Kenneth Carpenter, Edward Carpenter, Eric Carpenter, Nathaniel Carpenter, Joe Garrett, Cotton Owens, and Tim Bryant. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Tuesday at the chapel prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Hammett Grove Baptist Church, 635 Hammett Grove Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
