Ruth F. Mullinax

Mrs. Ruth Fowler Mullinax, age 91, widow of Frank Mullinax, formerly of Wedgewood Ct., Union, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Valley Falls Terrace in Spartanburg. Mrs. Mullinax was born in Rutherfordton, NC, May 31, 1922, a daughter of the late Theron and Elizabeth Williams Fowler. She attended Duncan High School and was retired from Conso Products. Mrs. Mullinax was a member of First Baptist Church where she had formerly kept the nursery and was a G.A. leader. Mrs. Mullinax was a gracious and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are three daughters, Karen M. Hill and Emily M. Quinn both of Union, and Anne M. Horne and husband Earl of Summerville; a son, Stephen F. Mullinax and wife Peggy of Spartanburg; three sisters, Alma Runnels, Barbara Burell, and Frankie Pustaver; one brother Ernest Fowler; a sister-in-law, Irene Eubanks; six grandchildren, Lara Dempsey, Leah Rosenburg, Blair Mullinax, Stephen Mullinax, Amy Quinn Owenby, and Jonathan Horne; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mullinax was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Forest Lawn Cemetery conducted by Rev. Rick Pendleton. The following grandsons will serve as active pallbearers, Blair Mullinax, Stephen Mullinax, Jonathan Horne and Trevor Owenby. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 405 E. Main St., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at their respective homes.
