Ryan Earl Mccoy

Mr. Ryan Earl McCoy, BS, MT, ASCP, age 50, a native of Union, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, in Arizonia while visiting friends.

Ryan was born in Union, January 27, 1972, a son of Susan and Ronnie Bullman, and Gerald and Connie McCoy all of Union. He was a 1990 graduate of Union High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He received a bachelor's degree and a Medical Technology degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston. Ryan was employed as Compliance Coordinator for Boon Industries in Grass Valley, CA. His career was always in the medical technology field having worked in South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Louisianna and California.

"Ryan was brilliant. His understanding of science and ability to connect it to the real world was unmatched – in the laboratory/testing environment where he thrived professionally and in his relationships and interactions with the people he met during his life journey." He also had a passion for sailing and an entrepreneur spirit.

Surviving in addition to his parents are sisters and brother, Haley McCoy, Candice Gilman and husband Josh and Ron Bullman and wife Melanie. He leaves behind his beloved canine companion and many dear friends.

A service to celebrate Ryan's life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Charles Thornton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday at the chapel prior to the service.
