Sadie B. Erwin

Mrs. Sadie Brewington Erwin, age 62, wife of Jerry Erwin of 465 Eaves Rd., Whitmire, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mrs. Erwin was born in Union, August 24, 1959, a daughter of the late General Lee Brewington and Mattie Hazel Greer Brewington. She was formerly employed with Mini Mart in Union and Jonesville and was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church. Mrs. Erwin was a loving and devoted wife, mother and "Nannie". She enjoyed taking care of her family and had a beautiful smile and a beautiful soul.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Michelle Johnston and husband Eugene Newell of Union, and Sharon Gossett and husband David Carter of Whitmire; a son, Dennis Erwin and wife Beth Pratt of Union; two sisters, Louise Tesner of Union and Penny Heatherly and husband Larry of Buffalo; and two brothers, Mike Brewington and wife Karen, and Troy Brewington and wife Cynthia all of West Springs. Mrs. Erwin was also surviving by grandchildren, Emily Erwin, Christopher Todd, Wesley Erwin, Kyleigh Erwin, Nic Barron, Cloe Dragoo, Zachary Dragoo, JaBryant Carter, DaShaun Carter and Sarah Newell, and one great-granddaughter, Lilith Hedger. Mrs. Erwin was predeceased by a grandson, Luke Erwin and a brother-in-law, James Tesner.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at West Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Christopher Todd, Wesley Erwin, Eugene Newell, David Carter, JaBryant Carter and Jimmy Tesner.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family will be at the home, 465 Eaves Rd., Whitmire.
