Sallie Fowler Sanders

Mrs. Sallie Ethel Fowler Sanders, age 90, widow of William Manning Sanders, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. Sanders was born in Union, October 6, 1925, a daughter of the late Martha Fowler Belue. She attended Kelly Pinckney High School and was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Martha S. Tollison and husband Wayne of Union; a son, Russell Gene Sanders of Jonesville and his fiancée Lisa Patti of Ft. Mill; a sister, Billie Fowler Lawter of Columbia; two granddaughters, Casie Jolly and husband Brad and Jackie Tollison all of Union; two great-grandchildren, Eva Jolly and Sophie Jolly. Mrs. Sanders was predeceased by brother, Otis Fowler. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, April 18, 2016, at Mt. Joy Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Steve Lemons and Rev. Alan West. Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Joy Baptist Church, 657 Pea Ridge Hwy., Jonesville, SC or to Union Co. Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 951, Union, SC 29379. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses of Heartland of Union and the Dr. Robert Yanetti for the care given to Mrs. Sanders during her illness. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Martha and Wayne Tollison, 2019 Jonesville Hwy., Union.
