Sally Lou (Greer) Hart

Mrs. Sally Lou Greer Hart, age 93, of 461 Lee Road, Jonesville, widow of John Calhoun Hart, passed away Friday, December 6, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mrs. Hart was born September 13, 1931 in Union, a daughter of the late John Monroe Greer and Leora Bevis Greer.  She was a graduate of Union High School and earned an associates degree from Winthrop College.  Mrs. Hart retired from Torrington & Co.  She was a member of West Springs Baptist Church.  Mrs. Hart was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who was an encouraging influence for her family.  Always glad to see friends and family, she was a real people person who never met a stranger she did not like.  Through good and bad times, her outlook made her an example for all who knew her.

Surviving are two daughters, Cindy Squires and husband Randall of Easley and Jane Hammett and husband William of West Springs; three sons, John Calhoun Hart, Jr. and wife Karen of Fredericksburg, VA, David G. Hart and wife Patti of Raleigh, NC, and Frank Hart and wife Amelia of West Springs. Grandchildren are Leigh Squires Scott and husband Mike, Matt Squires and wife Courtney, Ben Squires and wife Kristen, Will Hammett, Katie Black and husband Travis, Roman Hart, Ava Hart, Sally Hart Davidson and husband Justin, Maggie Hart, Lori Lowe and husband Kyle, Joe Hart, Sarah Hart, and Meenakshi Gurung and husband Subash; and ten great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a son, Charles Hart, a grandson, Adam Squires, a sister, Margie Greer Marcello, and two brothers, John B. Greer and Frank D. Greer.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, December 8, 2024 at West Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Mike Thomas.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be: Joe Hart, Matt Squires, Will Hammett, Roman Hart, Travis Black, Mike Scott, Kevin Hart, and Ryan Marcello.  Mrs. Hart's caregivers are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort.

Visitation will be immediately following the services in the church.  The families are at their respective homes.
