August 5, 2018 Mr. Samuel Mosley Bobo, age 91 of 212 Davis St., Union, widower of Hazel Lawson Bobo, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mr. Bobo was born in Union, April 1, 1927, a son of the late Wylie Bernard "W.B." Bobo and Bessie Sanders Bobo. He was retired from Torrington Co., Tyger River Plant and was a veteran of the US Army having served in the European Theater during WWII. Mr. Bobo was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon. He was a Mason for over 50 years at the John A. Fant Lodge where he had been Past Worshipful Master and then the Union Masonic Lodge. He and his wife were members of the Order of the Amarantha and he was also a member of Woodmen of the World. Surviving are a daughter, Teresa B. Henderson and husband Tony of Union; two sons, Samuel E. "Gene" Bobo, Sr. and wife Kathy of Union and Donald Ray Bobo, Sr. of Spartanburg; a sister, Matrel B. Mosley; a brother, Wayne Bobo and wife Gayle all of Union; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mr. Bobo was predeceased by a sister, Sarah B. Davis; six brothers, L.J. Bobo, Ernest Marshall Bobo, Sr., Claude Bobo, Jimmy Bobo, twins Ray and Roy Bobo and a daughter-in-law Gloria Bobo. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, August 6, 2018 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Benny Green. Burial with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will be held at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Monday at the church prior to the services. Active pallbearers will be Donald Ray Bobo, Jr., Samuel E. Bobo, Jr., Anthony F. Henderson, II, Gordan Alan Henderson, Andrew Clary, Caleb Inglett, Eli Clary and Clayton Bobo. Members of the Tom Alexander Sunday School class, the Senior Citizen's Breakfast Club along with Nub Ruth, Herb Robbins, Steve and Judy Crumley, Marion and Jane Ledford, Dr. Jeffery Craft, Tony Painter and the staff of Palmetto House Restaurant are all asked to sit in a group.
