Mrs. Sandra Foster Thompson, age 75, of 1414 Pineland Rd., Union, widow of Bobby Lee Thompson, passed away, Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Thompson was born July 16, 1946, in Union, a daughter of the late Robert Lee Foster and Hazel Goforth Foster. She a graduate of Union High School and the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Thompson retired from Union High School as a Special Education Teacher and had previously worked as a hairdresser. She was an active member of Fairforest Baptist Church as long as her health permitted and had previously taught Sunday School.
Surviving are two sons, Scott Thompson and wife Allison of Spartanburg and Terry Thompson of Union; a special granddaughter, Kayla Paige Thompson (Dustin) of the home; 12 grandchildren, Adailya Wilkins (Joey), Jesse Thompson (Jack), Jordan Thompson (Taylor), Sarah Thompson, Rebekah Knox (Tyler), Charlie Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Selena Thompson, Joseph Thompson, Abigail Thompson, Ameila Thompson, and Samuel Thompson; seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Orion, Ava, Maggie, Landon, Danny, and Mila; an aunt, Linda Medford of Jonesville; a sister-in-law, Carol Foster; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Lisa Foster of Lexington and Debbie Worthy of Florida. She was predeceased by two sisters, Roberta Vinson and Gayle Vinson; and a brother, Bob Foster.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Fairforest Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Mark Truitt. Burial will follow in Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Thompson's grandsons.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
