Sara Darlene (Burns) Sanders

Mrs. Sara Darlene Burns Sanders, age 68, wife of Carol Edward Sanders, Jr., of 289 Deepwater Road, Union, South Carolina, passed away February 7, 2025 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Sanders  was born August, 1, 1956 in Laurens County, a daughter of the late William Robert Burns and Bobbie Jean Shirey Culberson.  She was raised by her grandmother, the late Sara B. Shirey. Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker and was a member of Sardis Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Debra Lynn Lain of Batesburg Leesville, Cathy Elaine Clay and husband Stanley of Gray Court, and Cynthia Ann Donald of Laurens, and one brother, Tommy Burns and wife Jackie of Laurens; grandchildren, Sara Miller, Sadie Miller, Sawyer Miller, Tray Donald, Malik Donald, Alexus Clay, Aliyah Clay, Christopher Orr, Regan Orr, and Taylor Orr. She is also survived by six Great-Grandchildren.   Mrs. Sanders was predeceased by brothers, James David Burns and Robert Barry Burns.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 10, 2025 at Sardis Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Jeff Farmer. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service .

The family will be at their respective homes.
