Sara O. Duncan

Mrs. Sara Elizabeth O'Shields Duncan, age 90, formerly of Putman Rd., Buffalo, widow of Miles "Joe" Duncan, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at White Oak Manor in Spartanburg.

Mrs. Duncan was born in Union, May 16, 1932, a daughter of the late James M. O'Shields and Velma Lawson O'Shields. She was retired from United Merchants, Union Plant and was a member of Putman Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are two daughters, Gail D. Berry and husband Donnie of Roebuck and Sherri Duncan-Smith and husband Jim of Chesnee; a sister, Carolyn Berry of Spartanburg; two grandchildren, Danielle Richards and husband Tom, and Cody Berry and friend Michelle; great-grandchildren, Zander Miles Wallington, Harper, Sullivan and Ripley Richards and Carter Berry; a sister-in-law, Jean Crisp of Aiken, and a number of nieces and one nephew whom she loved all dearly. She was predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Duncan, a son, Terry Duncan and three brothers, J.M. O'Shields, Jr., Walker O'Shields and Edward O'Shields.

The family wishes to say a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of White Oak Manor for the loving care shown to Mrs. Duncan over the years.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, April 10, 2023 at Putman Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Brian Redding.

The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services.
