Sara Ann Farr

Mrs. Sara Ann Howell Farr, age 87, widow of Hubert Inman Farr, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at White Oak at North Grove.

Mrs. Farr was born in the Kelton Community of Union County, SC, on October 8, 1933, a daughter of the late Willie Howell and Bridgie McCullough Howell. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church.  As long as her health permitted, she was an active member of the Judy Hayes Sunday School Class and the WMU. She will be remembered for truly loving her family. She was the glue of her brothers, sister and extended family over the years, opening her home to the Sunday afternoon visits, Thanksgiving Day lunch, and Christmas Day gatherings for many years.  She was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister.

Surviving are a son Larry Farr and wife Patsy of Moore; a daughter Lorrie Ann Farr Schmitt and husband Tad of Chapin; four grandchildren Whitney Farr and wife Lynne, Richard Farr and wife Katie, Jessica Dominick and husband Cody, and Corey Schmitt; four great-grandsons Andrew, Owen, William and Willis; and three brothers, Charles Herman Howell of Charleston, Billy Howell of Laurens and Donald Hope Howell of Union.  Mrs. Farr was predeceased by brothers William Howell, Ervin Lee Howell, J.E. Howell, Howard Howell, Ned Howell, Eugene (Shorty) Howell, and Russell Howell, and sister Callie Howell Clark.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Joy Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale and Dr. James D. Spencer, III. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Steve Howell, Mike Howell, Terry Howell, Charlie Howell, Sammy Clark and Toney Farr.

The body will be placed in the church at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.  The family will receive friends and extended family following the service.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Joy Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 657 Pea Ridge Hwy, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at their respective homes.
