Shannon Lee Austin

December 29, 2016 Mr. Shannon Lee Austin, age 42, husband of Michelle Harris Austin of 226 Hancock St., Union, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. Mr. Austin was born in Union, April 18, 1974, a son of the late George and Sherry Knox Austin. He was employed by Dollar General Distribution and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Austin was a hard-working man and a great husband, father, and Papa. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Carra Beth Austin of Union, Cassidy Marie Austin and Caylee Michelle Austin, both of the home; two brothers, Thomas Austin and Brent Austin both of Union; two beloved granddaughters, Blakelee Elizabeth Rebecca Bright and Tinslee Shannon Marie Bright; three very special brother-in-laws, Trey Harris, Michael Harris, and Mark Harris; and numerous cousins and friends. Mr. Austin was predeceased by his parents, George Austin and Sherry Knox Austin; his grandparents, Boyd and Grace Ingle Knox and Kale Austin Todd; and special nephew: T.J. Austin. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Aulbrey Calvert and Rev. Wayne Cooke. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jesse Harris, Cody Harris, Brian "Red" Brock, Jerry Grady, Vipinbhai Patel, Todd McGowan, Connor Harris and Eric Hartley. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 PM Friday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family will be at the home, 226 Hancock St., Union.
