Shelby H. Turner

Mrs. Shelby Jean Haney Turner, age 74, widow of Everett J. Turner of 554 Thornridge Rd., Union, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at Magnolia Manor in Spartanburg. Mrs. Turner was born on Buffalo, July 15, 1939 a daughter of the late William Franklin Haney and Daisy Boulware Haney. She retired from Green Leaf Industries and was a member of Monarch Assembly of God Church. Surviving are two sons, Brian Turner and Tommy Turner both of the home; an adopted son, Glenn Thomas of Clarksville GA; three sisters, Sandra West and husband Ralph of Union, Vanessa Hogan and husband Darrell of Cheraw, and Linda McCallister of Clarksville GA; three brothers, Michael Haney and wife Monica, William Haney and wife Shirley all of Union, and Gerald Haney and wife Tammy of Buffalo; two grandsons, Landon Turner and Todd Turner both of the home and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Turner was predeceased by four sisters, Dorothy Justice, Rosa Moore, Cindy Gibson and Maggie Miller and one brother, James Haney. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Tanglewood Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Branch. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Rusty Robinson, Danny Bailey, Kevin Haney, Stanley Haney, Dennis Quinn and Jeff Benfield. Members of the "Hardee's Bunch" are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Tanglewood Baptist Church, 200 Velda Dr., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 554 Thornridge Rd., Union.
