Mrs. Shelby Jean Watts, age 80, widow of James Watts, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Magnola Manor in Spartanburg.

Mrs.Watts was born in Newberry, April 29, 1944, the daughter of the late George Thrift and Maggie Dora Greene Thrift. She was a retired textile worker and was a member of the Union Church of God of Prophecy.

Mrs. Watts is survived by daughters Wanda Cook and husband Ernest of Texas, Becky King and husband Billy of Woodstock, Georgia and Barbara Graves and husband Kent of Greenville. She is also survived by a son, Tim Watts and wife Karen of Union. Surviving in addition are a brother Buck Thrift of Whitmire, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughters, Melissa McFalls and Lisa Michelle Watts, sister Mary Grace Boyer and brothers, Raymond and Buddy Thrift.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Trinity Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Neil Keisler and Rev. Billy King. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, May 24, 2024 from 6 pm until 8 pm at the S R Holcombe Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Will King, Chris Watts, Aaron Watts, Issac Graves and Kayin Graves.

The family will be at the home of her son, Tim and Karen Watts, 119 Cherokee Ave. Union.
