Shirley Vinson Adams

December 20, 2016 Mrs. Shirley Vinson Adams, age 67, wife of Richard E. Adams of 660 Pea Ridge Highway, Jonesville, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Mrs. Adams was born in Union, SC December 28, 1948, a daughter of the late Frank E. Vinson and Frances James Vinson. She was a graduate of Union High School and Cecil's Business College. She was employed with Petroleum Distributers in Spartanburg. Mrs. Adams was a member of Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, the choir and served on various committees of the church. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Andrew Hunter Adams and wife Christina Hope; a dear grandson, Ayden Hunter Adams; a brother, Larry F. Vinson and special friend Margaret Austin and a god-child, Maggie Grace Genoble. Mrs. Adams was predeceased by three sisters, Ruth V. Bingham, Catherine V. Robinson and Viola V. Peppers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Michael Walker and Rev. Christopher Greene. Burial will be Porter-Gallman Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Gregg F. Vinson, Morgan L. Vinson, Jonathan Adams, Hayden Genoble, James Bright and Mike Horne. Visitation will be held at the cemetery immediately following the committal service. The family is at the home, 660 Pea Ridge Hwy, Jonesville, SC 29353.
