Shirley Lee (Dabbs) Mcleod

Mrs. Shirley Lee Dabbs McLeod, age 90, widow of Billy D. McLeod, went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 17, 2025.

Mrs. McLeod was born in Lockhart, SC, June 22, 1935,  the daughter of the late James "PeeWee" Haskell Dabbs and Margaret Greer Dabbs. She was a member of the 1953 graduating class of Lockhart High School. Mrs. McLeod had worked as the Assistant Manager of the Pizza Inn of Union, Klapat and Moseley's Diamond Showcase. She was a member of Lockhart First Baptist Church where she was very active as long as her health permitted. Mrs. McLeod enjoyed arts, crafts, and baking and was well known for being a loving, caring mother to her children, and a devoted "Mimi" to her 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Mrs. McLeod is survived by sons, Scott McLeod and his wife, Rita, of Chapin, Tony McLeod and his wife, Tonya of Pawleys Island, daughters, Tammy McKnight and her husband, "Jack", of Prosperity, Debbie Sanders and her husband, Tim, of Roebuck and Amy Sanders and her husband, Jeff, of Union. She is also survived by sisters, Linda Williams and her husband, Jim, and Ann Trakas, all of Union, grandchildren, Malcolm McLeod (Laura), Thomas McLeod ( Brooke), Nikki Ridgeway (Carter), Danielle Vascovich (Rich), Justin Allen (Natalie), Brett Sanders (Micaela), Ryan Sanders (Sammy), Kylie Schombert (Taylor), Lane McLeod (Cynthia), Morgan Vicarisi (Alex), Maggie McLeod, Ellison McLeod, Jett McLeod, Jacob Sanders (Bethany), Joshua Sanders (Caitlin) and Caroline Sanders. Mrs. McLeod is also survived by her loyal companion of 12 years, her beloved dog Susie, who was a constant source of joy and comfort. Mrs. McLeod is also survived by sisters–in-law, Louise McCutcheon and Ann Wilson (Ted) and numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mrs. McLeod is predeceased by her sister, Virginia "Butchie" Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, October 20, 2025 at Lockhart First Baptist Church directed by Rev. Ben Hill. Burial will follow the services at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church, from 3:00 PM until 4:00 prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be the grandsons.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to Mrs. McLeod's caregivers and would ask that they sit as a group during the funeral services.
