Shirley M. Farr

Mrs. Shirley Ann McDaniel Farr, age 79, of Union, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Ellen Sagar Nursing Center.

Mrs. Farr was born February 24, 1945, in Union, a daughter of the late Nellie Mae McDaniel Smith.  She was a 1965 graduate of Union High School.  Mrs. Farr retired from Union Dry Cleaners and had previously worked at Humphries Landscaping.  She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Kay Turner and husband Chris of Laurens; two sisters, Brenda Bogan and husband Wayne of Union and Sandra West and husband Gary of Union; a brother, Eddie Smith and wife Susan of Union; a sister-in-law, Connie Smith of Union; a granddaughter, who was the apple of her eye, Georgia Grace Turner; a special friend, Diane Glenn of Union; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother, D.C. Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Mr. Todd Palmer.  Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Ellen Sagar Nursing Center, especially Crystal Brewington, Cindy Blanchard, Vanessa Quinn, Barbara Bobo and Tammy Waters for their love and care of Mrs. Farr during her illness.
