December 21, 2018 Buffalo, S.C. Miss Shirley J. Ford, age 81, of 312 Drugstore St., Buffalo, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Miss Ford was born in Union, May 13, 1937, a daughter of the late Dolman Austin "D.A." Ford and Bunie Stapleton Ford. She was a graduate of Union High School and a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Miss Ford retired from Belk department store and had previously worked for Plexico Wylie Drug Store. Surviving are two sisters, Nettie Ford and Millie Ford; a brother, Perry Ford, Sr. all of Buffalo; three sisters-in-law; Joyce Gibson of Buffalo, Hazel Ford of Columbia and Voncile Ford of Ocean Springs, MS; and several niece and nephews. Miss Ford was predeceased by two brothers, William Ford and John T. Ford, Sr.; and infant sister, Nancy Faye Ford; and a sister-in-law, Mata Sue Ford. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery. Deacons of the church are asked to serve as the active pallbearers. Members of the Adult Sunday School Class are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, P.O. Box 728, Buffalo, SC 29321. The family will be at the home of her brother, Perry Ford, Sr., 116 Jennings Circle, Buffalo.
