Shirley M. Gregory

Mrs. Shirley Morris Gregory, age 86 of W. Hillcrest Ave., Union, widow of Gerald Gregory, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Union Post Acute.

Mrs. Gregory was born in Union, October 1, 1938, a daughter of the late Mae Gibbs and Tony Morris. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Arthur State Bank. Mrs. Gregory had formerly worked at Cone Mill – Carlisle Finishing and at Excel Hosiery in bookkeeping. She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Tony Gregory and wife Sue of Union; a granddaughter, Ellen Griffin and husband Christopher of Greenville; a grandson, Matt Gregory and fiancée Brenda Charles of Savannah, GA and a great-granddaughter, Magnolia Griffin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Doug Estes. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Matt Gregory, Steve Ramsey, Kenny O'Shields, Franklin Pridemore, David Barber and Jay Coffer.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the chapel prior to the services.

The family will be at the home of her son, Tony and Sue Gregory, 121 Douglas Heights, Union.
