Shirley Long Robinson

October 18, 2016 Mrs. Shirley Long Robinson, age 81 of 150 Azeberry Lane, Jeffersonville, KY, formerly of Jonesville, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at Ridgeway Nursing Home in Owingsville, KY. Mrs. Robinson was the widow of William Robinson. Mrs. Robinson was born in Jonesville, SC November 3, 1934, a daughter of the late Sam Long and Grace Hodge Long. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Winchester, KY. and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Regina R. Martin and husband Dean of Spartanburg; a son, Michael "Mike" Robinson and wife Shiryl of the home; four grandchildren: Jonathan Martin and special friend Carrie Logan, James Martin and fiancé Sara Onufer all of Spartanburg, Wendy Robinson and Jason Robinson and wife Beth all of KY; two great-grandchildren, Seth and Aaron Martin of Spartanburg and a number of nieces and a nephew. Mrs. Robinson was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Varner, a brother, Eugene Long and a granddaughter, Eric Martin. Funeral services will be held 7:30 PM Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel conducted by Rev. Johnny Barnhart. Visitation will be held 6:00-7:30 PM Friday in the chapel prior to the service. Burial will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Johnny Barnhart. Memorials may be made to Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 38, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Regina and Dean Martin, Spartanburg, SC.
