Shirley Black Smith

Mrs. Shirley Black Smith, age 62, wife of Michael Wayne Smith of 142 Woodside Dr., Union, (Lockhart) passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mrs. Smith was born in Union Co., February 22, 1959, a daughter of the late Tommie Allen Black and Barbara Terry Black. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School class of 1977 and was formerly employed with Ashe Insurance and Denton Gas. Mrs. Smith was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 42 years, are a son, Bradley Wayne Smith and wife Stephanie of Moncks Corner; a sister, Angie Bennett of Lockhart; a brother, Allen Black and wife Jenny of Chesnee; two grandchildren, Nicolas and Natalie Smith. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a son, Allen Michael Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, July 30, 2021, at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Sam Baine. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church.

Active pallbearers will be Nicolas Smith, Heath Johnson, Josh Williams, Keith Williams, Josh Kurtz and Keith Queen.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church.
