Stanley Moody

Mr. Robert "Stanley" Moody, age 72, of 117 Lowe St., Union, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Saturday, February 26, 2022.

Mr. Moody was born in Union, March 22, 1949, a son of the late Robert Lee Moody and Eva Wade Moody. He was a 1967 graduate of Union High School and attended engineering school in Charlotte. Mr. Moody retired from Timken Co. after 47 years and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Moody was also a member of the Union Elks Lodge. He was previously married to Cheryl Gentry and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Gault and husband Randy and Laura Lovings and husband Richard all of Union; grandchildren, Timothy Gainey and fiancée Katie Bailey of Florida and Kathryn Gainey and fiancé Joseph Thompson of Union and a great-grandchild, Albert Gainey-Howell. Mr. Moody was predeceased by a sister, Mary Jane Fannon and a brother, James F. Moody.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Michael Moody.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
