Stella Mae Porter

September 30, 2017 Mrs. Stella Mae Childers Porter, age 86, wife of James N. Porter of 4058 Mt. Pleasant Church Rd., Chester, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Porter was born in Lockhart, April 30, 1931, a daughter of the late Charlie and Pearl Watts Childers. She was a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Mary Susan Porter of Chester; three sons, Aubrey Steven Porter and wife Kathy of Chester, Kenneth Wayne Porter and wife Molly of Lockhart and James Darren Porter and wife Teresa of Chester; a sister, Judy Mize of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Ervin Childers of Buffalo and James Childers of Union; eleven grandchildren and a number of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Porter was predeceased by nine brothers and a grandchild. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Wilksburg Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Ray Harold Belue. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services. The family will be at the home, 4058 Mt. Pleasant Church Rd., Chester.
