Steve Freeman

Mr. Steve Freeman, age 69, husband of Patsy McSwain Freeman of 114 Happy Valley Rd., Union, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mr. Freeman was born in Union, March 3, 1956, a son of Ruby Sherbert Freeman and the late Ray Wilson Freeman. He was a faithful member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, a choir member and a Sunday School teacher for many years for the Cowboys and Cowgirls for Christ class.  Mr. Freeman was an avid farmer and President of the Union County Farm Bureau of years. A Clemson tiger fan, he was a loving husband, father and Paw Paw.

Mr. Freeman loved God, his family, and his church family. He will be missed greatly on earth, but we rejoice in knowing that we will see him again in Heaven.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 34 years and his mother are three children; Joshua Freeman and wife Cathy, Amanda Freeman Black and husband Jake, and Lena Freeman Bobo and husband Austin; seven grandchildren, Baylie, Benjamin and Brennan Black, Abbigail Freeman Gregory and husband Bailey, Aryn and Avery Freeman, and Clyde Steven Renwick; a brother, David Freeman and wife Sandra of Greenback, TN; a sister-in-law, Julie Baylis Freeman of Grandbury, TX and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Kerry Freeman.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, June 30, 2025 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Norman Band, Rev. Joshua Freeman and Rev. Melvin Shelton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Noah Billings, Tyson Neely, Austin Tucker, Matt Vaughan, James Bradley Lawson, Sawyer Hembree, Jacob Lawson and John Lawson.

Members of the Cowboys and Cowgirls Sunday School class and teachers are asked to sit in a group.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Spartanburg Regional Hospice of the love and care shown to Mr. Freeman, especially to his wonderful nurse, Donna Jolly for taking such awesome care of him during his battle with cancer.

The family will be at their respective homes.
