Steve Kent Johnson

Mr. Steve Kent Johnson, age 67 of 200 Erwin Avenue, Union, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at his home. Mr. Johnson was born in Union, SC May 31, 1949, a son of the late Henry D. Johnson and Margaret Wilburn Johnson. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from P&C Mechanical. Mr. Johnson was a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class, W.S Whitener Class and a member of the Men's Club. Mr. Johnson was previously married to Sherry Linder Lawson. Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Johnson Hicks; a son, Jamie Johnson and wife Crystal; a brother, Johnny Johnson and wife Judy all of Union; five grandchildren: Taylor Johnson, Tristin Johnson both of Florida, Blake Johnson, Tori Hicks and Cortney Hicks all of Union. Mr. Johnson was predeceased by a sister, Mary Margaret Johnson. Funeral services will be held 3:00 Friday, November 4, 2016 at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church conduct by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Robbie Hines, Scott Johnson, Tack Brown, Jim Stepp, Joe Wade and Franklin Pridemore. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 PM Friday in the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Duncan Acres United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 216, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of his son, Jamie and Crystal Johnson, 318 N. Boyce Street, Union.
