Mr. Steven Ray Hyler, age 46, of 298 Sims St., Whitmire, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Steven was born January 1, 1980, in Newberry, a son of Robert Lee Hyler and Elaine Bodie Hyler. He worked as a mechanic for Champion’s Garage in Whitmire. Steven was a graduate of Whitmire High School. He loved working with cars and was an accomplished handyman. Steven loved his daughter, Haylee Rae.

In addition to his parents, Steven is survived by a daughter, Haylee Rae Hyler, a brother, Brandon Lee Hyler and a nephew, Bandon Lee Hyler, II. He is also survived by numerous, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Steven was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ervin Clayton Bodie and Brenda King Bodie and his paternal grandparents, Junior Hyler and Roberta Hyler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 28, 2026, at Whitmire Church of God, 600 Evans St., Whitmire, conducted by Pastor Eddie Bledsoe. Burial will follow in the Whitmire Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Matthew Temples, James Harris, Shane Harris, and Chase Bodie.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Whitmire Church of God prior to the funeral services.
