Steven "Goose" Parker

Mr. Steven Gene “Goose” Parker, age 66, of 1211 N. Hwy 150, Pacolet, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Mr. Parker was born in Spartanburg, October 1, 1959, a son of Gail Messer Parker and the late Dallas Gene Parker. He was a graduate of Broome High School and was a retired welder with Spartanburg Waste Management. Mr. Parker served as a councilman for the town of Central Pacolet. He loved hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing and his many friends.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his companion, Rita Kirby of Central Pacolet; a daughter, Kim Sellars and husband Shane of Spartanburg; a sister, Tammy Rothrock; grandchildren, Parker Sellars, Paisley Sellars, and Janis Parker and his beloved dog “Buddy”. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffery Gene Parker.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, Monday, January 12, 2026 at Pacolet First Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Pastor Lisa Parfitt and Rev. David Sellars. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at New Beginnings Church prior to the graveside services.

Active pallbearers will be Alvin Littlejohn, Bobby Guyton, Eddie Guyton, Parker Sellars, Justin Rothrock and Ricky Robinson.

Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family will be at the home of his mother, Gail Parker, 1261 N. Hwy. 150, Pacolet.
