Steven Lee Robinson

Mr. Steven Lee Robinson, age 67, husband of Sheila Kirby Robinson of 4649 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Union, (Lockhart), passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mr. Robinson was born in Union, November 27, 1954, the son of the late Ester "Junior" Robinson and Jetty Worthy Robinson. He was a 1973 graduate of Lockhart High School and attended Winthrop College and the University of South Carolina, Union. Mr. Robinson retired from Timken Industries in Rutherfordton, NC. He was a devoted member of Lockhart First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, worked the sound system and had also served on various other committees. Mr. Robinson was a past Scout Master for Troop #45 in Lockhart. He and his family have beautiful memories of cruises, beaches, and the outdoors. He loved to travel and never met a stranger.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, George Ashley Robinson and partner, Mason Hensley of Brooklyn, NY; a sister, Jamie Lynn Posey and husband Chris of Greenville; two nephews, Will Posey and Wyatt Posey; his mother-in-law, Laurice Kirby Summer and his co-worker and long-time friend, Frank Hoyle.  He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved cat, Lilly.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to the nurses and doctors of Gibbs Cancer Center and Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for the care given to Steve and his family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Lockhart First Baptist Church, 126 Armory Rd., Union, conducted by Rev. Drew Rogers, Rev. Ben Hill and Rev. Delos Blanton. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the church prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be the Deacons of the church: Brent Greer, Mike Allen, Arnold Childers, Eddie Burnett, David Turner, Jantzen Childers, Jason Plemmons, Jason Childers, Scott Vlock, Dewayne Grant and Paul "Dodie" McCutcheon.

Memorials may be made to the Lockhart First Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 170, Lockhart, SC 29364.

The family will be at the home, 4649 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Union.
