Talmadge James “Tiger” Deal, Jr.

Mr. Talmadge James "Tiger" Deal, Jr., age 62, of 140 Old Cemetery Rd., Union, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014. Mr. Deal was born in Lockhart, September 9, 1951, a son of the late Talmadge James Deal, Sr., and Ruby Lamb Deal. He was a retired house painter and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Deal was also a Mason. He was previously married to the late Della Smith Deal Moss. Surviving are a daughter, Lori Anne Deal of Union; three sisters, Donna Sue Hollifield of Fort Lawn, Janice Fallaw and Diane Melton both of Lockhart; two brothers, Ronnie Lamb of Union and Tommy Deal of Lockhart; four grandchildren, Courtney Roberts and husband T.J., Caleb Deal, Kristin Pruitt, and Mary Benvenuti; seven great-grandchildren, Alayna and Mia Cayte Roberts, Alaina and Simon Parkins, Zane Pruitt, Kinleigh and Kandace Robinbson; his live long friend, Gilbert "Nig" Smith of Union; and several nieces and nephews including Monty Lee Deal. Mr. Deal was predeceased by a step-son, Leslie Dale Parkins and a grandson, Mitchell Lee Parkins. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Lockhart Cemetery conducted by Rev. Scott Cobb. Active pallbearers will be Lonnie Melton, Bruce Miller, Mike Shrader, T.J. Roberts, Lee Owens, and Preston Thomas. The following are asked to assemble at the cemetery to form the honorary escort: Gilbert Smith, Larry Gene Cabiness, Ricky Fallaw, William Moss, Kent Smith, Monroe Smith, Carl Smith, Dennis Smith and Irvin Garner. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside services. Memorials may be made to the Talmadge James Deal Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of his daughter, 102 Wedgewood Court, Union.
