July 4, 2016 Ms. Tammy Everhart Murphy, age 53 of Chesnee passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 in Sevierville, TN, after a sudden illness. Ms. Murphy was born in Winston-Salem, NC, April 3, 1963, a daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn N. Wright. She was a graduate of Union High School and attended Spartanburg Technical College. Ms. Murphy formerly worked as a cosmetologist and volunteered as an interpreter for the S.C. School for the Deaf and Blind. Surviving are her fiancée, Wade Jones of the home; two sons, Shawn Everhart of Buffalo and Dalton Murphy and wife Summer of Union; a step-son, Patrick Kyle Jones of Jonesville; two sisters, Sherry Smith of Roebuck and Evelyn Wright of Buffalo; two brothers, William Todd "Red" Wright of Buffalo and Ronnie Wright of Union; two grandchildren, Kevin Everhart and Devaeh Olivia Murphy and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 PM Wednesday at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home prior to the graveside services. Memorials may be made to the Tammy E. Murphy Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of her son, Shawn Everhart, 721 Linerville Rd., Buffalo, SC.
