July 4, 2018 Mr. Terry Charles Cody, Sr., age 67, husband of Vanessa Trammell Cody of 158 Barnado Rd., Union, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his home after a brief illness. Mr. Cody was born in Union, October 24, 1950, a son of the late King Jeter Cody and Bertha Freeman Cody. He was a graduate of Union High School and attended Spartanburg Technical College. Mr. Cody was retired from Hoke Industries in Spartanburg as a tool and dye maker. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp having served in the Viet Nam War and was also a former member of the South Carolina National Guard, Jonesville Unit. Mr. Cody was a loving husband, father, step-father and grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Terry C. Cody, Jr. and wife Angela of Jonesville; three step-daughters, Leslie Austin of Union; Kimberly Ruby and husband Scott of Buffalo and Melody Greene of Union; a step-son, Preston Greene of Jonesville; a sister, Barbara Parkins of Cross Anchor; a brother, Jeter Cody of Union; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Cody was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Phillips and a brother, Thomas Cody. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2018 at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Smith. Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Care, 1530 Drayton Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307 or to Christian Fellowship Baptist Church, 557 Kelly Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 158 Barnado Rd., Union.
