Thelma Hanvey

Thelma Johnson Hanvey, 84 of Roanoke passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025. She was born December 24, 1940, daughter of the late Caleb and Susie Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her sisters and brothers; Mildred Philott, Frances Reynolds, Wilma Oritz, Ronald Johnson, Gary Johnson and Albert Johnson.

Thelma was loving, caring, gentle, always taking care of others selflessness. She loved word searches. A hundred percent dedicated to her family. The sweetest person you ever came in contact with.

She is survived by her husband, Donnie Roy Hanvey; son, Randall Hanvey and wife Susan; grandchildren, Alex Hanvey and wife Brittany, Shannon Belouin and husband Daniel and MaryBeth Hanvey; great grandchildren, Abigail, Ryan and Nate; brothers, Edward Johnson and Floyd Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with her grandson, Alex Hanvey officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, September 8, 2025 at Oakey's North Chapel.
