Thelma P. Parris Spartanburg, Sc

Mrs. Thelma Pack Parris, age 87, of 151 Pine Creek Dr., Spartanburg, widow of Junior Parris, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 at Mountain View Nursing Home. Mrs. Parris was born in Cherokee Co., May 7, 1927, a daughter of the late Arthur and Toilda Pressley Pack. Surviving are two sons James Parris and wife Nancy of the home and Ricky Parris of Spartanburg; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Parris was predeceased by a daughter, Minnie Lee Cothran and three sons, Donnie Parris, Robert Parris and Kenny Parris. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 6, 2014 at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church conducted by Pastor Lisa Parfitt and Rev. Jimmy Powell. Burial will be at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Larry Parris, Ray Parris, Danny Gregg, D.J. Gregg, Wayne Cothran and Joey Winzenried. Visitation will be held at the church Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the services. The family will be at the home, 151 Pine Creek Rd., Spartanburg.
