Thomas William “Buck” Latham

Mr. Thomas William "Buck" Latham, age 93, formerly of Browns Creek Church Rd., Union, widower of Laura Cookson Latham, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at Heartland Nursing Home. Mr. Latham was born in Lockhart, SC on December 1, 1922 a son of the late, John David Latham and Ella Mae Jones Latham. He was retired from Milliken and Company - Lockhart Plant. Mr. Latham was a member of Lockhart Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder Emeritus and had previously served as a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He was a Mason and a member of Lockhart Masonic Lodge. Surviving are a daughter, Eugenia Latham McKnight and husband John of Brown's Creek; a son, Donald Ray Latham and wife Marie Ann of Sharon; a sister, Laura L. Dabbs of Lockhart; three grandchildren, Jennifer Dingeldein and husband Don of Lexington, John McKnight, III and wife Molly of Anderson, and Donna Latham of Blacksburg; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters, Josie Mae Kirby, Sarah L. Gallman, and Agnes L. Vanderford; four brothers, Melvin "Butch" Latham, Billy Dean Latham, Russell Wylie Latham, and Marion Latham. Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Lockhart Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Steve Lemons. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM prior to the services at the Church. The family wishes to extend a special "Thank you" to Hospice Care of South Carolina, Pam Phipps and the "Sit Group" for the love and care their father received.
