Thomas C. Hamilton, 90, of Anniston, Alabama passed away on the morning of August 21, 2022 at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living in Kernersville, NC.
Tom was born on July 28, 1932 in McAllister, Oklahoma to Jim and Anna Mae Hamilton. In June 1953, he married his first love, Ruth James. They raised two children, Nancy Wilburn and Jerry Hamilton. Tom served as a Private in the U.S Army and was stationed at Fort Jackson.
Tom retired from Chalk Line Manufacturing in 1994 as the Quality Control Manager. He was a businessman and didn't pass on a good deal. Tom loved a good investment and watching the stock market while drinking his morning coffee. His summer evenings were spent cheering on the Atlanta Braves, even if they were reruns. Tom enjoyed traveling and taking his family to Litchfield Beach. He and Ruth filled up their passports traveling the world together. Tom was always willing to help a neighbor, work on projects, and stay busy. He was a volunteer fireman, a member of the ELK's Club and Lion's Club, and had a weekly route delivering Meals on Wheels. On Sundays you would find him singing in the choir, serving as an elected elder, and a deacon of the church. Tom raised his family with a strong Christian upbringing.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Anna Mae Hamilton, wife, Ruth Hamilton of 59 years, wife, Carolyn Hamilton of 3 years, brother, James Hamilton, and granddaughter, Nancy Leigh Wilburn. Tom is survived by his daughter, Nancy Wilburn, and son, Jerry Hamilton (Judy); three grandchildren, Anna Gray (Andrew), David Wilburn, and Carrie Wilson (Stephen); and three great-grandchildren, Caroline and Carleigh Gray, and Maverick Wilson.
