Mr. Thomas Sylvester "Red" Hancock, age 70, husband of Peggy Roberson Hancock of 112 Homestead Dr., Union, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his home. Mr. Hancock was born in Union, September 11, 1943, a son of the late Dudley Lee Hancock and Willie Mae Mize Hancock. Mr. Hancock was a retired textiles worker and a veteran of the US. Army having served in the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Hancock was of the Baptist faith and the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving in addition to his wife 35 years is a daughter, Janet Louise Hancock of Inman; two step-sons, James Littlejohn of Jonesville and Kent Littlejohn of Cross Keys; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Smith Hancock; a niece, Debbie Hancock Crawford and husband Donnie all of Union; two brothers-in-law, Claude Roberson and wife Barbara of Jonesville and Jimmy Roberson and wife Darlene of Pacolet; two grandchildren; two god children, Chloe Sanford and Carter Hackler both of Union; special friends, Dean and Mary Lancaster of Jonesville. He is also survived by a host of friends with the S.C. National Guard, Union Unit. Mr. Hancock was predeceased by a sister, Alta Ruth Hancock and a brother, Charles Vernon Hancock. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Scott Cobb. Memorials may be made to the Thomas S. Hancock Fund, P.O.
