November 8, 2018 Mr. Thomas Monroe Pruitt, age 77, husband of Martha "Sue" Roach Pruitt, of 254 Bagwell Rd., Pauline, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at his home. Mr. Pruitt was born in Buffalo, SC April 29, 1941, a son of the late Thomas Pruitt and Beulah Brewington Pruitt. He retired from the security department at Savannah River Plant. After retirement, Mr. Pruitt was owner and operator of Monroe's Pool Service. He was a veteran of the US Army and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-four years are two daughters: Angela Pruitt Huggins and husband John of Pauline and Tammy Pruitt Shreve of the home; two sisters: Edwina Smith of Aiken and Patsy Phillips of Buffalo; four grandchildren: Victoria Davis, John Logan Huggins, Regan Huggins Lambert and Ashton Mills Layton; three great-grandchildren: Thomas Wayne Trantham, Nathan Carter Trantham both of the home and Riley Layton and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Pruitt was predeceased by two sisters, Reba Vinson and Ann Lawson and a brother, Harold Pruitt. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Tommy Mann. Mr. Pruitt's nephews will serve as active pallbearers: Tommy Vinson, Eric Vinson, Joey Lawson, Ray Lawson, Brad Phillips, Paul Phillips and Steve Smith. Visitation will be held 11:00-12:45 PM Saturday at Holcombe Funeral Home prior to the graveside service. The family is at the home, 254 Bagwell Rd., Pauline, SC 29374.
