November 2, 2018 Mr. Thomas Lee Sanders, age 89, husband of Lois Gregory Sanders of 117 Partridge Rd., Union, passed away, Friday, November 2, 2018 at his home. Mr. Sanders was born in Union, August 14, 1929, a son of the late Thomas Bryant Sanders and Mazie Howell Sanders. He was retired from Milliken and Co. and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. Mr. Sanders was active in his church for 72 years and served as a Deacon and a Trustee. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Linda Roark and husband Broadus and Wanda Flemming and husband Mickey all of Union; a son, Keith Sanders and wife Denise of Union; five grandchildren; Randall Roark and wife Kelley, Layton Roark and wife Dana, Jeremy Sanders, Chris Flemming and wife Kristin, and Michael Flemming; eight great-grandchildren, Amanda Roark, Austin Roark, Ashlyn Roark, Chelsea Flemming, Bryson Flemming, Adams Sinclair, Connor Fleming and Gracelyn Roark and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Sardis United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Farmer. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Randall Roark, Layton Roark, Wayne Garner, Clarence Sanders, Curtis Eubanks and Dennis Cooper. The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort: John Parks, Paul Barnett, Larry Yarborough, Charlie Childers, Eddie Kelly, Mike Manus, Sammy and Mary Ellen Smith and members of the Men's Breakfast Club of Sardis United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday evening, November 3, 2018 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 1530 Drayton Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307 or to Sardis United Methodist Church, 964 Sardis Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 117 Partridge Rd., Union.
