Thomas V. Wade, Sr

Mr. Thomas Vernon "Bun" Wade, Sr., age 87, husband of Gaynelle Hooper Callahan Wade, of 201 Hidden Hill Rd., Union, SC., went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Wade was born in Union, SC., on November 9, 1928 a son of the late Frank T. Wade and Janie Shirley Wade. He was a graduate of Union High School and a veteran of the United States Navy-Merchant Marines. He retired from the United States Postal Service and was a member of the Union Elks lodge 1321. Mr. Wade was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Thomas V. Wade, Jr. and wife Debbie of Virginia Beach; a step-daughter, Louanne Thompson Jarrett and husband Scott and step-son, Mike Callahan and wife Sherrie all of Union; a brother, Jackie Wade and wife Mary of Union; grandchildren, Amy Hampton and husband Andre, Nichole Nichols and husband Eric, Ryan Wade and wife Heather all of Virginia Beach; great-grandchildren, Kaiya Hampton, Carson Nichols and Olivia Wade all of Virginia Beach; two step-granddaughters, Katy Henderson and Brooke Callahan; three step grandsons, Richie Callahan, Mikey Callahan, and Dylan Thompson; two step-great-granddaughters, Sarah Hope Henderson and Haley Meadows and one step great-grandson, Josh Meadows. Mr. Wade was predeceased by four sisters, Ruth Leonhart, Grace Baldwin, Verile Hodge and Jute O'Shields; six brothers, Frank Wade, Jr., Cecil Wade, Boyce Wade, Donald Wade, Darrell Wade and Billy Wade; and one stepson, Ricky Callahan. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Chris Gulledge. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Active pallbearers will be Ryan Wade, Andre Hampton, Roger Wade, Ronnie Wade, Kyle Coker and Joe Wade. Visitation will be held Tuesday night from 6:00-8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church, 1431 Lockhart Hwy., Union, SC 29379.
