Tommy Broome

Mr. Tommy Eugene Broome, age 78, husband of Joyce Crocker Broome, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025, at his home.

Mr. Broome was born May 7, 1947, in Union, a son of the late William Broome and Lula Mae Burns Broome.  He was a graduate of Lockhart High School and the University of South Carolina at Union, where he received his Associate of Science degree.  Mr. Broome retired from V.C. Summers Nuclear Plant where he was the Shop Foreman.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Broome was a member of Philippi Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 43 years are three sons, Jackie Broome of Easley, Chris Broome and wife Lisa of Norris, and Chad Yon and wife Melody of Union; a daughter Melissa Gregory and husband Mark of Union; five grandchildren, Britany Folk, Kaylyn Yon, Abby Gregory, Emma Gregory, and Krista Broome; and eight great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by three brothers, Buddy Broome, Danny Broome, and Jimmy Broome.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 27, 2025, at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Robert Scott.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
