January 22, 2017 Miss Valice Maness, age 97, of Pine St., Buffalo, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Born October 28, 1919, in Nora, VA, she was a daughter of the late Sterling S. and Charity Minor Maness. A graduate of Union High School, Miss Maness was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and retired after working 49 years as a spinner for the Buffalo Plant of United Merchants and Manufacturing, Inc. Miss Maness is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ruby Ford, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Elizabeth Maness, and Jim and Mary Maness. She is also survived be a number of nieces and nephews. Miss Maness was predeceased by two sisters and their husbands, Fred and Cecil Smith, and Charles and Fannie Barker, four brothers and their wives, Elmer and Audrey Maness, Lloyd and Edna Maness, Ralph and Valerie Maness, and Glennis and Virginia Maness; and a brother-in-law, J.W. Ford. Graveside services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Miss Maness's nephew, Mr. Jimmy Maness. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Baptist Church, P.O.
