Vera Jean Haney Ray

May 18, 2015 Mrs. Vera Jean Haney Ray, age 78, formerly of Buffalo, widow of Billy Ray, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Peach Tree Center, Gaffney, SC. Mrs. Ray was born in Union SC March 1, 1937 a daughter of the late Rufus Haney and Guynella Miller Haney. She was a graduate of Union High School and had formerly owned and operated Andy's of Buffalo. Mrs. Ray was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church where she had served as the former church pianoist, a former choir member and had helped with various youth organizations. Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Ray Altman of Myrtle Beach; two sons: Andy Michael Ray and wife Pam and Benjamin Scott Ray all of Union; a brother, Joe T. Haney and wife Phyllis of Buffalo; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Lynn Ford. Visitation will be held immediately after the service at the graveside. Memorials may be made to Vera Ray Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her son, Andy and Pam Ray, 125 Pineland Rd., Union.
