Vera Shropshire

Mrs. Vera Scruggs Shropshire, age 88, of 829 S. Duncan ByPass, Union, widow of Leroy Shropshire, passed away December 26, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Shropshire was born in Chesnee, SC, November 8, 1927, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are two grandsons, Kevin Shropshire and wife Kelly and Lee Shropshire and wife Lacy all of Union; three great-grandchildren, Riley Shropshire, Jasper Shropshire, and Sydney Shropshire; a sister, Marlene and a brother, Billy Scruggs both of Chesnee. Mrs. Shropshire was predeceased by a son, Michael Kelly Shropshire and a great-granddaughter, Mia Shropshire. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Union Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services. Memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 103-B S. Boyce St., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of Lee and Lacy Shropshire, 101 Maid Marion Dr., Union.
