Vergie Louise Tracey

August 20, 2018 Mrs. Vergie Louise Tracey, age 96, of 186 Whitehead Dr., Union, widow of James Vernon Tracey, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018. Mrs. Tracey was born August 25, 1921 in Chester, a daughter of the late George Alexander Gaston and Violet Ann Love Gaston. She was a graduate of Sharon High School and of Beauty School. Mrs. Tracey was a retired beautician. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Tracey was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are one daughter Sara Stepp of Chester and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Lonnie Melton, Nick Gregory, Robert Palmer, Robert Whitehead, Ray Wise, and Richard Melton. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Wednesday prior to the services at the church. The family is at the home of her niece, Jewel and Steve Gregory, 442 Mt.
