Vernal L. “Steve” Stephenson, Jr.

February 20, 2016 Mr. Vernal Lee "Steve" Stephenson, Jr., age 68, husband of Dianne Stephenson of Union, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at Magnolia Manor in Spartanburg. Mr. Stephenson was born in Rock Hill, October 21, 1947, a son of the late Vernal Lee Stephenson, Sr. and Ruby Nance Stephenson. He was a graduate of Union High School and attended vocational college. Mr. Stephenson was retired from B and L Mechanical in Greenville and was a former owner of Stephenson's Mobile Home Park. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Stephanie S. Inglett; a granddaughter, Rileigh Jade Inglett; a step-daughter, Heather C. Loftis; a step-son, Jason Conley; three step-grandchildren, Megan Conley, Katelyn Conley and Brett Loftis; two step-great-grandchildren, Isabel Roberts and Ava Pressley; a two nephews, David Barber and Shane Barber all of Union. Mr. Stephenson was predeceased by a son, Richard Lee Stephenson and a sister, Debra S. Belue. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will be at Fairforest Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Rd., Landrum, SC 29356. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Stephanie S. Stephenson, 112 Jenkins St., Union.
