Vernon Sprouse, Jr.

Mr. Vernon Sprouse, Jr., age 54, of 3233 Jonesville Lockhart Highway, Union, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Union Medical Center.

Mr. Sprouse was born December 3, 1969 a son of Vernon Gene Sprouse, Sr. and Barbara Feemster Sprouse.  He was a graduate of Lockhart High School and the University of South Carolina Columbia.  Mr. Sprouse was retired from the State Department of Corrections where he was a Probation Officer and Employment Advisor.  He was a member of Roper Mountain Baptist Church in Greenville.  Mr. Sprouse was a member of Mt. Joy Masonic Lodge No. 203.  He was an avid Gamecock and LSU Tiger fan and enjoyed watching baseball games and going fishing.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Susan Hines and husband Joey of Inman; and by an uncle and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Lockhart First Baptist Church, 126 Armory Rd., Union, SC 29379, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Steve Lemon and Rev. Terry Candler. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at Mt. Joy Baptist Church Cemetery, 657 Pea Ridge Highway, Jonesville, SC 29353.

Active pallbearers will be Tommy Feemster, Bobby Feemster, Toney Farr, John Bobo, Todd Palmer, and Todd Carter.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM prior to the services at the church.
